Leanne's drawings

Leanne's drawingLeanne's drawingLeanne's drawing
No, I did not draw the above drawing. A blog reader did! How sweet of her to email me these drawings she did after being inspired by my work. It so totally made my day. I have been saving up these pictures in my inbox for days now and have been waiting for the right moment to post them up here. I hope this makes Leanne smile! Leanne and her friend, they are both so cute. They dropped by my MARKit stall on Sunday and said hi. They are also signing up for my Harvest special 1-night only watercolour class. I am so excited I get to teach such creative girls! Ah Leanne, you sure can paint and draw!

After a whole long day of standing, smiling, and meeting both new and familiar faces, I am back from yet another market stall day! It was fun sharing an island stall with Harvest Textiles and Monolog's creative Indie at the ever fantastic MARKit. I was there this time round to sell our Dawn Tan + Harvest Textiles collaboration. Lots of tea towels and recipe boxes went to new lovely owners. Oh and totes and aprons too! So yes, if you've bought something from us yesterday, thank you! And to those of you who came down specially, said hi, introduced yourselves, brought your little kids to meet me, etc, thank you! I look forward to teaching all of you little kiddies and adults soon! The first class starts this Thursday! Oh wow : )

I took lots of photos of the other stalls. Will be sharing them in my next post. See you soon!

Oops! Picture overload once again. Sorry, I just can't help it. Especially when these kids are so talented and so cute! For our last April class today, we made our very own owl clocks! I was rather sick and wasn't feeling very good so I didn't quite have any energy. Things were a bit slower resulting in a bit of a rush. Even cut my finger by accident. Kids saw and went 'ouch' on my behalf. Cute! But we made it in the end. Hooray for us all! A special thanks to Emma who took some of these photos. Thanks Emma : )

Don't forget, there's going to be another round of kids art class in June! If you're a mummy who would love to sign your kids up, do so over here! If I am not mistaken, the class is almost full! Come July 14th, I'm also going to be having a special one-day filled with Handmadelove workshops at Harvest. I'll be holding 3 classes during the one day. A toddler, kids and adult class! Check this little space for more info and to sign up!

Obus wall project opening

Didn't end up taking lots of photos. I was feeling really sick and uncomfortable. Wasn't thinking straight and probably ended up talking way too much. I think I sounded stupid too, asking people funny questions, mumbling and all. I ended up leaving early. Sigh! So sorry if any of you came and I wasn't there. I have to admit, it was pretty bad of me to leave early. But I couldn't help it. The pills I took were making me totally kooky. Anyway, the wall will still be up till July! So feel free to drop by if you are in the area!

More painting!

Wall painting at ObusWall painting at ObusWall painting at Obus
Round 2 of wall painting at Obus today. And I'm done! Thanks to my sister who came and helped out again. She even sneakily left a little 'Z' when signing off. She says she needs to be credited too, for painting all those pots. True and fair enough! So, the wall is all ready for opening night at 6pm tomorrow. I hope the weather holds up and isn't too cold. I'm planning to wear a nice gingham dress with a blazer and my summery bright red open-toe clogs! I know. I'm crazy! Anyway, come on down if you're free. It opens at 6pm and closes at 9!

Oh and thank you so much for all the positive feedback. Ebony of Hellosandwich tweeted about it on twitter. Penny wrote about it on her wonderful new green blog. And the wonderful creatives over at Many Triangle did a little write up too. Thanks to all those who came down, walked past and smiled while we painted. it is truly very encouraging. One of the kids from my Harvest art classes even came along with his mom specially to check out the wall! That totally made my feel so warm and fuzzy inside. A pity I'd already finish painting by then. But thanks for coming anyway! I'll be sure to take some photos tomorrow!

Some pictures taken while my sister and I painted at Obus today. I painted all the lines and plants and got my sister to do the patterns on the pots. I am so lucky to have her as my painting sidekick! She's an awesome painter. Penny of Pocket Carnival dropped by to say hi. It was a good thing she did. I was starting to see so much green, my eyes were going a bit funny. More painting tomorrow then opening night on Wednesday!

Live painting & market stall

Coming up!
Just thought I'd drop by just before I go to bed. Two very exciting things happening this coming week! First up, some live painting action at Obus! Indeed I'll be painting the walls of Obus' Flinders Lane store tomorrow and Tuesday. So come visit during your lunch break or if you're in the area. I'd love to say hi! It's my first live painting experience. I'm hoping all goes well, that I don't fall off the ladder or something of that sort. I'm rather clumsy! My super nice little sister, Zoe will be there too. She's going to be my painting side-kick. Hahah!

And another exciting thing happening too. I'll be at MARKit@Federation Square on Sunday 29th May! I have a stall along with the Harvest Super Team and the talented Indie of Monolog. We'll be selling all our tea towels, totes, recipe boxes, stuff that we've collaborated on. Along with lots of beautiful Harvest goodies. I heard both the Harvest ladies and Indie are launching their latest Winter stuff. Ooh. I've been seeing lots of hardworking action in the studio. Their new wintry stuff all look so beautiful!

So yes, come on down as it'll be lovely, I'm sure : )

Scones and a giveaway!

SconesApple and cinnamon scone
Date sconeJam and Honey
Last week, I was sent a whole bag full of scones from the lovely people at Bakers Delight. They actually emailed me to ask if I would like to try their newest date and apple scones. And naturally being a scone-fanatic, of course I said yes. I rarely agree to such product-testing and blogging emails but it's scones we're talking about. You all know, judging from this drawing, that I can't resist scones!

So, Bakers Delight sent me two of their newest scones. The date scone and apple scone. Along with my family, we taste-tested both during breakfast and chose our personal favourites. My dad and sister liked the apple scone. My sister isn't a date fan and my mum, Darren and myself, we liked the date scones! I thought the date scones were not as sweet and went well with butter and honey. Just the way I like it!

Of course these scones aren't as fluffy as the famous scones you get from Miss Marples or even Sunny Ridge. But you know what? These Bakers Delight scones are so easy to get hold of! You don't need to queue for an hour just for them. They're baked fresh daily, so easily available from the many outlets and are so affordable! That to me, apart from being yummy, is reason enough for wanting more!

So just thought I'll be nice and share some vouchers so you can try these scones and decide for yourself which you prefer! I have 2 x $10 vouchers to giveaway! Just leave a comment and I will pick a winner on Thursday this week! Do take note, this giveaway is only open to victorian residents.  Now go on and leave a comment!

Prawn painting class

Prawn meal painting!Painting red highlights

Just thought I'd pop by and show you all some photos from today's kiddy art classes at Harvest! I bought the kids some fresh prawns and we observed the colours and all drew our very own prawn meal painting. It was so funny how most of the kids went 'yuck! Stinky prawns! I'm not going to eat that!' But after class, everyone tucked into those prawns happily. I cooked them after class and the kids all watched excitedly as the prawns changed colour. Interesting yummy class for them I reckon! I mean, which art class provides a snack of prawns? I wish I had prawn-filled art classes as a kid! Yum!
