Not letting bums get in my way

Studio Time
No way am I going to let those meanies get in my way. If You follow my twitter, you would have known all the drama that ensued after my previous post. Basically, I got an email from those guys saying that they can take legal action against me since I'm defaming their business. Say what? Yes. Those people. No comments. So here I am, trying very very hard not to get my spirit broken and hopes down. I've chosen to post a pictures of what makes me happy instead. These are all pictures taken in my studio. My little space makes me happy and that's that.

Now, those meanies can go ahead and bring me down in whatever way they want to, but they will never ever be able to take the happiness I get from working in a creative space along my joy of making art away.

PS: I've been thinking of watermarking my work but it just doesn't help it at all. If they are able to steal a range of my work and photoshop it in such a way whereby it all flows, I am sure photoshopping my name will be easy peasy.

Shame on you!

Argh! How many times must creative types, artists repeat this. Stop stealing our work! Go create your own and stop stealing. Okay. i am just disappointed once again that my work has been stolen yet again. This time round a Singaporean label Victoria Jomo has stolen my work ( God knows how many they stole! ) and reprinted them on to shirts. Come on, I'm sure you guys can do better. I am truly really frustrated and angry. But in all honesty, I think I'm more sad than anything else. I really don't get why people want to steal from others. I work so hard to break it into this industry. The money I get isn't a lot and it's always stressful for me to have to make things work so I can make a living from what I do. Yet there these people go, take what I have and just earn quick bucks from it. Shame on them really!

Obviously the person who stole my work reads my blog. She or he obviously likes my work. So yes, if that is you, PLEASE stop stealing from me and from others. I know it's expensive to hire your own designers. But hey. WHILE YOU ARE EARNING MONEY, I AM STRUGGLING like crazy. And that doesn't even make any sense to me at all. SO yes, please stop what you are doing. Thank you! If you are going to keep selling these shirts, I will get someone to go to your shop and demand that you take down everything. Yes, I can be really 'fiery' when provoked! I mean what I say!

Somehow I have this gut feeling that this will never end unless I get to the source which is this dumb ass shop in Chatuchak Market, Thailand? If you've been there before, you would know how impossible it is to track the right shop down. And in this case, the shop does not even have a name! Fantastic! Also, does this mean I have to leave ugly watermarks on all my uploads ( What a nightmare! ) and also to upload shitty quality images? It doesn't even make sense. Why should I have to do that because of bums like them.. Sigh.

Harvest Special

Veggie printingDaryl and Damien's TotesYum
Looking for something fun and crafty to do during July? I've got 3 special classes lined up! They are all one-off classes and will be hosted at the amazing Harvest Workroom. I've got a Toddler art discovery class where kids will be doing a giant paper portrait. An animal tote bag class where I'll be teaching older kids ages 5 and up how to draw animals using shapes. They'll be making their very own animal totes! And also, the popular watercolour packaging class for adults. Nice people have been signing up so do hurry as spaces are limited!

As promised, here are some photos I took last week of Emily Green's studio corner. Apart from the Harvest super ladies and Pete, I also share a space with the very talented Emily Green. She has a nice little nook in the studio and I sit next to her. I am pretty much distracted 90% of the time because all her super cute beads and brooches yell out my name, begging me to buy them all. But yes, other than that, it's been pretty fun so far being studio buddies. Very inspiring!

Everyday I wake up secretly feeling like Harvest is my very own Dobbin Mews. Just in Melbourne that is! I have been so jealous of Jenny and Jennifer whose blog I religiously stalk. ( oops! Who doesn't! ) They both share a space there and I have been so envious of them for like forever. I am so thankful I have my own little space now, along with Miss Emily and the lovely Harvest ladies!

Be back in a jiffy!

Brunch with CharlotteCaught up with my friend Charlotte over yummy brunch yesterday. We went to Milkwood, which was just around my studio. It was so nice just catching up and chatting over good food. The poached eggs on sourdough with chorizos were really yummy and for that I'd definitely go back again.

While at the studio, I also took lots of photos of my studio partner Emily Green's cute little nook. I haven't really had time to sift through the pictures. Lots of them! Will post them up here next week. For now, I got to go get some sleep and wake up early. It's the long weekend, so my sister, Darren and I are going on a ski trip at Falls Creek! Well, not that I love skiing. I'm honestly a bit terrified. I just absolutely love the snow and chair lifts. So see you next week when I'm back! For those of you in Australia, have a nice relaxing long weekend. And to everyone else, thanks too for coming back here even after my cheesy self-indulgent post. Haha!
