All in a day's worth!
Recently I turned one of my artworks I did last October, into a little zine. I am proud to say that I have 12 copies up for sale over at a quaint little zine shop in Melbourne! Yes! My work's in a REAL PHYSICAL SHOP! I'm really excited myself and I hope you are for me too ;-)
Anyway, they're going for $8.50 and if you're roaming Melbourne, you can get them here, at Sticky Institute!
Oh and if you're not from Melbourne, and would love to purchase a copy, you can either email me at dawntanwenyi@gmail.com or you can visit my online shop : )
Cheers and have a good Wednesday!
PS: Tonight, I will take down my previous blog. I am a little sad to see it go, but all good things must come to an end before more new things can start : )
Just because...
I'm older today, I'm entitled to dream a bit more than usual. And so, I wish I was alone in any of these right now.
I'll have my sketchbook, paints, and a pen in hand, while enjoying warm peach apricot tea, along with thin butter cookies. Sweet robins and squirrels would come visit. And when I'm tired of drawing, I'll pick daisies and make myself a daisy necklace and crown.
Indeed, a dream is a wish my heart makes, when I'm fast asleep.
I should go to bed early. Good night!

22!
Today I turn 22. And I'm thankful for everything thus far : )
My God is forever constant. I change, He doesn't.
I lose sight, He doesn't. I forget, He remembers.
Thank you God, you rock! : )
And of course, all the others who remembered and did little surprises and stuff for me. You are all so sweet!
Alright, it's off to another day at school, art history and painting in my studio today. And I'm finally going to watch this cute movie tonight! Darren's been bugging me to watch it with him since he saw the trailers. Haha.
My weekend was lovely
Darren and I got invited to a sweet wedding. And since it was almost my birthday, he decided to bring me to Dandenongs for scones and just spend a lovely little afternoon in the woods : )
PS: It was a wet and super cold day but I had lots of fun still!
I will be back tomorrow. As for now, I gotta get myself to feel better first. I think the cold has made me a bit ill.
My wonderful friends from lifegroup threw me a surprise pre-birthday dinner party and I felt like puking 1/2 the time. I get pukey when I'm cold. That's not nice, especially when Winter is not even here : (
But anyway, thanks for the surprise girls! : ) it was really really sweet!
I'll be back tomorrow. Good night!

Tweet twiit twitter!
Yup, I'm on twiiter! Follow me here!
Anyway, my sister and friends have gone back home to Singapore. The house is so quiet once again. Well, maybe it's a good thing, because I need to really start working on my art history paper, which is due pretty soon. I need quiet time to focus on all my pile of work! I've never been this busy before!
But I miss my sister and friends already. Sigh!
Anyway, you have a good weekend! I'm off to go tackle my boring silly accounts and check on the laundry. Ciao!

In my dreams...
I live in a little quaint cottage home. With a nice toolshed as my studio space. And a pony in my backyard with a red apple tree.
I would have wooden floorboards and lovely wallpapered walls. I will sit at my wooden table all day long, painting and making art. And when my ideas run dry, I will take walks in the afternoon just before the sun sets, just so I can admire the wonderful beautiful orange light.

Oh so lovely
The whole of today has been about food, food and more good food!
Pancakes with berries and cream, flatbread and beetroot dip paired with light beers, spanish chocolate churros and spicy yummy Korean food for dinner. It's good to have my sister in town. I get to eat so much good food and because we share our foods, it's way cheaper!
And of course, food aside, I've been busy out and about marketing my art as well. Lots of good things coming my way -I think, or at least I hope so!
I'll be heading out to Mornington tomorrow. I'll be back Sunday!
Cheers!

Art stuff in the making
And so, the reason why I've been so busy and away from my computer, is because I've been up to a series of art ideas and marketing my art in little places around Melbourne.
Firstly, I'm in the midst of applying for a busking license, which will be granted really soon! And then I'll be busking at least/hopefully once a week! : )
Secondly, I'm working on producing a few limited edition copies of zines to be sold at Sticky Institute! How exciting! I'll probably be selling a few online as well. So look out for that. They'll be ready by end of next week!
Thirdly, I've been working on more handmade books which will also be sold at some tiny shops in Melbourne.
Fourthly, I'm also looking at placing my handmade cards in shops around the city, and selling them on a commission basis. I've got a shop in mind and I'll be going in to speak to the boss tomorrow.
Fifthly, I'll be busy creating some art pieces in the coming weeks, to be placed at George Street Cafe in East Melbourne. They will be on sale and I'll be showing you pictures once I get started!
Ooh! So, I've got so much art ideas in my head, they're bursting! :P Things are really picking up, I was supposed to be resting and having fun ( it's the mid-semester break ). I pictured catching up on sleep happening a lot, but somehow it didn't come true. But it's alright. I'm quite happy as it is, and the only other thing I would like to have now, would be a pet. I've always wanted a pet. For.The.Longest.Time. I'd love to be able to take breaks from work to spend time with my pet, draw my pet, etc etc.
But oh well... stop dreaming!
Alright, I need to go work on my art history paper now ( which to be honest, is really quite a bore! ) But yup, I need to get started!
See you around!
Busking's fun!
I always had a little dream - to be able to busk on the streets in public, just painting, drawing, and bringing smiles to people's faces.
And last Sunday, I finally did it! : ) And for FREE! I'm glad some appreciated my art and gave me money willingly, for my drawings.
I didn't bring my Nikon out with me, so all these photos were shot on my mobile phone.
Hello hello!
I have been so busy and exhausted, so sorry I haven't been online much.
Anyway, I just thought this space was getting a little too quiet so I'm here today just for a quick post.
Remember last week when I mentioned how I ruined my favourite pair of red loafers?
Darren so wonderfully bought me a new pair! :P
We were walking along the city streets a few nights ago and we passed Wittner on Collins Street and saw this awfully cute pair of mocasins. They were just so cute, and he told me to go back and check out the price, since the store was closed.
So the next day, I went back and it was on sale! Still pricey, so I stood there contemplating. I was in my ruined pair of loafers, and standing next to the pair of brown lovely ones, just made my ruined ones look so old and worn out. So it wasn't really hard to decide on buying the pair. And darren, being darren, has decided to buy it for me as an early birthday!
So now I'm one big happy girl with new lovely shoes! Yay!
Alright, I'm going off, I need to chill and stop doing and thinking a million and one ideas at a time.
And because you stayed to read, here's a painting I completed a few weeks ago. It's oil and glitter on canvas! I hope you like it : )
I will be back tomorrow with more stuff to share, I promise! : )
ByeBye!

My holiday weekend so far...
Has been so wonderful! I spent both afternoons in a little town away from the city, called Williamstown, It was a lovely town with so many puppies and friendly people! I'll let these pictures sum up my weekend so far. Enjoy!
The weather was lovely, company was great. What more can I ask for?
Oh but Darren's parents have returned to Singapore, and Darren's away on a weekend conference in Adelaide. That leaves me pretty much alone at home cause my other housemate went to visit her aunt. The house is so quiet. I wish everyone was back home. So the house wouldn't be so cold and empty.
Anyway, I hope the weather will stay this good tomorrow.
Have a great Easter Sunday!

Good news to share!
George Street Cafe, 65 George St, East Melbourne
-photo from the internet
If all goes well, I will probably be selling some tiny art pieces at this quaint little cafe. I'm dropping by Tuesday noon to speak to the person in charge. I'm super excited!
Instead of just hanging some landscape works, I'm thinking of painting up a few of their specials, like the highly recommended Bircher muesli with fresh fruit salad, yummy bacon and egg breakfasts, etc. In this way, it'll be more personal, not only for me but also for the cafe owner and it's customers too. I'll be painting in this little style of mine.
What do you think?
*Fingers crossed!
Oh and I've added two more little handmade books in my shop. Do pop by and have a look!
Have a lovely easter weekend!

Canvas Stretching
Just posted a whole bunch of photos up on my daily-studio project space. From the pictures, I think you can tell I don't exactly work in a very clean environment. Today while stretching and priming my large canvas, I dropped my newly bought bottle of Gesso primer and it broke! As if that wasn't sad enough, I got a cut from the bottle, and Gesso splattered onto my favourite pair of red loafers as well. I tried cleaning as much as I could. But this is the best I could get.
Sigh!
a sandwich a day
A new personal little project where I draw and enjoy a sandwich breakfast everyday, until I finish an entire loaf of bread.
I really love eating bread, but because I eat it everyday, I sometimes get so bored of it. And so, comes about this love-hate relationship I have with breads. But today I woke up craving for a good sandwich. So I made myself 2 avocado, butter, cheese and ham, soy and linseed sandwiches. One for breakfast, another for lunch!

New space, more walnuts!
Hi, some of you may remember this post from my previous blog. And 2 days after trying out Stephanie's wonderful recipe, I'm still hooked!
Darren likes them as well. So I'm going to make more.
These are really really addictive. I call them ''little perk-me-ups!''
Anyway, hope this little post made you smile. If you're reading, do say hi!
