Veggie Man
In other non pop-up show related news, I was over at Each Peach this morning getting breakfast for Jess and myself and spotted this old man with a van filled with organic home-grown veggies. He was selling all his veggies that he had freshly harvested this morning. And here's the whole bunch of fresh greens I got. So good to know these are all chemical-free and organically grown. We have some gigantic mint leaves at the studio. They were store-bought ready and all potted. And they are HUGE. Emma calls them plants on steroids. Good to know these are steroid-free!
Alrightyo. Back in the afternoon to do a quick post with even more pictures! Opening tonight! AHHH!

1 more sleep to go!
I am so sorry to be filling up this little blog with pictures of our work in progress! But I am just so super excited! Can you tell? Just one more sleep and it's our pop up shop opening! So far there's been quite a number of RSVPS.. Keep them coming! We're cooking up a big pot of vegetable soup for tomorrow night. And we're baking Lara's famous chocolate chip cookies too. Both of these much loved recipes will be available as tea towels, aprons, posters and of course they'll be in the recipe box too! Oh and just because we all love having lemon cordial, there's going to be lots of it as well. Mmm. Nothing like homemade yummies!
We are still here in the studio, buzzing around in excitment, tying up all the loose ends, doing all the last minute little stuff. Basically just making sure everything's perfect and ready for tomorrow. Did I mention we're potting up a whole row of wooden crates and filling them up with herbs and vegetables? Oh yummy!

More printing
My goodness. Last night, Lara and Jess stayed in the studio till almost 5am to print! All in prep for our pop up shop! And I thought the previous day's midnight stint was bad. Emma's been busy working on the written stuff too. We are all busy bees! Going in early today today to fold up a whole pile of recipe boxes and cut out cards, hand write tags and so on. As you can tell, we are almost going nuts ( or so I think ). Everything is handmade with so much love, effort and care. With our own bare hands. You know, even the aprons and tote bags are sewn up by our clever sewing lady, using 100% pure linen.
Oh and in case you're wondering about those plants, we are collecting and eating lots of canned food along the way so we can pot plants and herbs in cute cans for our shop!

Pop Up Shop Happening THIS FRIDAY!
We stayed in the studio printing away till midnight last night! Yes we did! Things are beginning to shape up quite nicely and everything's coming together. It is really very exciting to see my stuff transformed onto screens and printed on tea towels, aprons, bags, basically a whole range of fun goodies. We have been running out and about, getting materials, supplies, collecting prints from the printers.
Our lovely families have been of so much help. Even the kids have been throwing out ideas! Things like a cake baking competition during the opening night! ( Yes we are, we are cooking up goodies from our recipe box set, which we will be launching!) Just look at how Ziggy ( Emma's cute little 2 year old ) helped out yesterday. He decided to help me by modeling his mummy's very own tomato relish recipe! Something super yummy that has been in the family for the past 3 generations. His tiny little bandaged finger just makes everything so cute! He also modeled Lara's family Chocolate chip cookie recipe. I tried making it last Sunday. So so good. I am not even a cookie person yet I cannot stop popping it into my mouth!

Finders Keepers: Things that caught my eye Part 2
As promised yesterday, more photos from Finders Keepers! Hooray for handmade goodies I reckon! I didn't end up buying lots of stuff this time round. Just a nice pair of wooly leggings since my one and only pair has holes. Holey leggings? Hmm, no thanks! So yes, new leggings for me. They are nice and polka dotty. You can get them here too. Other than leggings, I got a nice pair of owl earring for my sister and an Emily Green necklace and brooch! Emily Green is awesome. She is so nice, so stylish and her creations are so pretty. Actually we did a trade. So I got a brooch in exchange with my scone print. I have been wearing my necklace all day long the past three days. It makes me feel so happy and colourful. Best purchase ever!

Finders Keepers: Things that caught my eye
As we all know, Finders Keepers is here in Melbourne over this weekend! It is such a super market with so many beautiful handmade goodies to look and buy. I know so many of you who read my blog don't live in Melbourne, so just thought it will be nice to share. I arrived late in the afternoon after working the entire morning. So I was a bit tired and didn't bother putting much effort into taking better photos. These photos are all just random photos that I took while zipping around the place. So hope you won't mind!
PS: Strangely enough, while in my super speedy zipping around mode, I still managed to take well over 29 photos. So here's the first part first. You know, 29 images in a post isn't going to work. Haha. I'll be back tomorrow to share the other photos and the stuff I bought!

Sandcastles
Yesterday marked the end of March kiddy classes at Harvest. It's been super fun the past couple of weeks. And I'm really sad it all ended so quickly. But at the same time, I'm looking forward to the holiday classes and the next term's classes. I'm already thinking up several fun projects, but at the same time, I really want to make the classes a little weeny bit difficult too, so the kids will learn. I believe art classes should always have a mix of fun and challenge at the same time. So yes, expect more lessons like still life painting, portrait painting on top of the playful projects like creating their own clocks, learning about the life cycle of a butterfly, making animal mobiles and fruits and so on. Knowing the way I like learning these sort of things in an exciting way, I will be sure to make it fun for the kids as well so they will have a great time and learn new things. You know, this world needs young creative crafters and artists!
PS: If you're a mum and would like to sign your child up for my classes, you can check out the details here. There's the next round of kids classes and the holiday classes coming up super soon and dates are limited. So be quick to make a booking. Thank you!
