Moving The Mountains

Moving the mountainsClose Up
A bit of something I've been working on. Right now in my life, I'm stuck with moving all the big huge mountains around me. I keep my sanity by painting and painting and painting. Paint what, you ask.

Mountains, hills, alps.
That's where I'd like to be.

Thank you Sarah, your little surprise made my day! : )
Tuesday today. A week and I'm still ill. But it's alright. It's my good friend Caroline's birthday today. We're going out for Thai tonight! Can't wait.

Happy Birthday Caroline! ( :

Oh and I forgot to tell you. I finished my teepee tent project last week. Here's a photo of myself sitting in it. It's tiny, just enough for one to sit and read in it!

Have a nice sunny Tuesday!

Over The weekend

Some Berries for our pie
Cooked yummy Salmon and made a pie
Cafe SweetheartsCafe Sweethearts
Over the weekend, Darren and I made a berry pie, got some supplies for my art making, and ate a yummy little breakfast at the sweetest cafe in South Melbourne.

And today everything went wrong. Sometimes I wish the weekend was longer. I'm still sick. It's been a week already and I'm still not well. I hope to get well soon and get out of this emotional rut I'm going through. Dear mean people, please stop making use of me and then pretending everything is alright, because it is not. At least for me, that is.

Sigh. Tomorrow will definitely be a much better day! I'm sure..

Upcoming events!

Invite Image
Hello! : ) I promised yesterday I would bring good news today. So yup, here's three pieces of good news! The good news is... the group show I've been curating, For always and Ever, will be opening on the 23rd of next month at Off The Kerb Gallery! I just finished cropping and choosing the right images for the show invite yesterday night. They'll be sent out to the printers soon! I'll post the printed invite once I get it back from the printers! xx Can't wait!

Secondly, I've been invited by the lovely Kim of Craft Victoria, to be part of November's Craft's Hatch. I'm excited and can't wait to set up a little booth selling all my handmade goodies, along with 11 other very talented crafters! This event's going to be on a Saturday, 14th November.

And thirdly, I'm also going to be part of Leeloo's 2nd Birthday Once Upon exhibition! This is such exciting news and I can't wait to start work on the 4 paintings I'm putting in the show. This group show will feature other really talented artists such as Bec Winnel, Alicia Rosam, Tabitha Patterson, Jessica Hyde and many others! Each of the artists will be given a fairytale theme to work with. Mine's.... Thumbelina! I love Thumbelina! : ) I've got a rough idea what I would like to work on. So excited! And for this exhibition, I'll most probably be flying to Sydney for a three day trip so I can also attend the Opening night at AmBush Gallery! I'm super hyped up and really thankful for the support I get from my friends, family and you guys who appreciate what I'm doing.

It's been such a joy and such a blessing to be able to make art and create works that make others smile! I'm glad I'm an artist : )

Ok, it's almost mid-day and I've not had breakfast yet! Going to head to South Melbourne for brunch and then to Bunnings to get some mdf boards and art supplies.

PS: I'll be posting more about these upcoming events in greater detail, closer to the dates! So fret not! : ) Have a wonderful Weekend!

PPS: Are you going to watch the AFL finals? Haha. I'm rooting for the Saints! Haha

Art making is never cheap. Sigh!
But.. I promise I'll share good news with you this weekend : )

Yesterday Once More...

Hello! Wow, you guys are awesome! I'm glad you all liked my photos from the Royal Melbourne Show. Nice!

Yesterday for class, we visited this little artist run space called Hell Gallery. ( Yes, we were laughing at the name as well. ) In East Richmond, Swan Street.

It was such a quaint kitschy place, I fell in love with it and immediately dreamt of having a tiny show there. The place was basically a 'converted' toolshed, driveway filled with plants and disco balls, fairy lights hanging from trees, sort of place. It wasn't your typical white walls, clean, polished gallery. Well, they had a barbeque set, band and movie screening room, dinosaurs and plastic toys hidden all over the place, amongst trees, etc. So you can imagine, it was pretty fun to be there!

I happen to have my camera with me, so I took some photos of the place. I hope you like what you see. Do pop by and check out the place. They open only on Saturdays!

Last Saturday, Darren brought me to the Royal Melbourne Show. It was super super trooper fun, and I felt very much like a kid, running around places, chasing after quick baby goats and carrying all the baby animals. I had one of the best days! Even though we got caught in the rain and Melbourne's crazy weather decided to rain and shine and rain all in the same day. It was a bit frustrating getting wet and sunburnt and then wet again and burnt again. I think it was because of that, I came home and fell sick the next day. And today, I've got a really bad bad throat, headache, and I can't really talk because my throat's all sore and painful.

Oh well. But we still had a lot of fun. We went there for all the animals, woodchopping and agriculture stuff. We're not the sort to spend on show bags and rides. Strange I know. Haha. But yup, we had so much food samples too! ;-) If you'd like to see more pictures from our little day at the show, do pop by my flickr! : )

Stay well!

PS: Did you go to the show this year? How did you find it?

Pizza Party

Pizza Party
Pizza Party
We made healthy pizzas for dinner tonight. Lots and lots and super lots of mushrooms and spinach leaves with low fat ham, tomato sauce and yummy cheese. Beats eating oily food. We're having peach and passionfruit drinks after that.

Alright, it's dinner time! I hope you all had a great Friday! And a fantastic weekend!
PS: I'm going to the Royal Melbourne Show! Can't wait to see all the horses, dogs, and diving pigs! I've never been there before. Have you?

So, with the coming weekend loaded with fun ( finally away from work and essay writing ), I'll be back Monday! : ) With pictures to share. I promise!

With a smile and a song

While up in the mountains, we came across this sweet old record store. I found so many of my favourite childhood cartoons! Did you watch some of these too? What were your favourite cartoons? Oh and I really wanted to let you hear some of the songs from the awesome old records CD that I got. But I'm not sure how to do a mixtape up here. Sorry!

It was super nice and sunny yesterday and today, it's cold, gloomy and rainy. Oh Miss Melbourne, you do indeed have a sense of humor. Today I spent the whole day working from my desk, writing and re-writing parts of my art history essay. I can't wait for all my essays to be done. I really hate essay writing.

I've been at my desk for about 7 hours now. I'm getting off my chair and not touching my essay anymore,  for today. I had enough! Hah. I'm going to read a bit of my Frankie Magazine and then work on a new tiny painting.

See you around!
