The amazingness of Harvest Workroom
As if Harvest Workroom isn't filled with enough colour from Emily Green, Harvest Textiles and myself. Now we have an amazing yarn shop, Popcraft. As well as superstar illustrator Beci orpin?! Are you kidding me?! No I am certainly not!
Look at all the colours, and beautiful handmade goodness! This is why my wallet is afraid of me. Everytime I step into Harvest, all I want to do is just buy something pretty. I am trying very VERY hard to hold my excitement all in. Two things you need to know about me - I am VERY addicted to buying beautiful yarn and handmade stuff. So far, I've already got myself some beautiful soft yarn from Popcraft, and also a sweet pair or silver earrings from Beci Orpin's pop up shop. The earrings are so pretty. They are single earrings and I got a bunny and a smiling sun. Might show you a picture soon! x
PS: Beci's pop up shop closing party is happening this Sunday at Harvest! You should drop by. There's gonna be yummy tacos too. Oooh...

New Piece
An orange themed painting for an upcoming group show organized by the lovely ladies from Miss Kish. Well, it's meant to spell Nonna. As in grandma. But I got carried away and spelt Nona instead. It still works though! I had so much fun painting this piece in the garden yesterday. Made me feel like having an orange cake too! Do you know Oranges are actually my favourite fruit. I do not like apples! And I'm impartial to berries.
This piece will be for sale during the exhibition. More details soon.
Peaz's cute little home
I'm staying over at the beautiful Peaz family home this week. Thanks Pete and Emma! I was meant to go into the studio today to work but I got distracted and ended up staying at 'home' instead. I seriously cannot get over the cuteness of their house. Pete and Emma have two little kidlets and so the whole house is pretty much filled with lots and lots of kiddy drawings. Cute! They have 2 healthy and big hens at the back, along with a guinea pig. I've lived in an apartment my whole life so having hens at home excites me. I think I checked out those chooks at least 5 times today! Sense my excitement? Haha.
I'd love to show you more pictures of Emma's beautiful home. But I'm not going to invade their privacy. So well, let's just all use our creativity and imagine how cute it is!
Meanwhile, here's a little picture of the house just opposite theirs. It's being built still but just look at those red dots! Polka dot house!

Happy Birthday Miss Poppy!
This morning, Little Miss Poppy had her 4th birthday party. Mummy Cindy invited me over to do some art with Poppy and friends. We read Charlie and Lola's 'This is actually my party' and made our very own cardboard cupcakes! Oh yum! There were paints, sparkles, pom poms, lots of Mr Brushes and yummies. ( Oh those delicious sausage rolls! ) And of course Poppy had a big cute birthday cake made by the clever Katrina. Oh Poppy's you are such a lucky girl! Happy birthday! Thanks once again Cindy for this arty party opportunity! : )

Kirra Jamison
I have been a fan of Kirra Jamison's work for about 2 1/2 years now. I first came across her work while on a random walkabout in Richmond. I remember going into art galleries around Richmond that day after one of my classes. By chance, it started raining heavily and I ended up seeking shelter in Sophie Gannon Gallery. Whoops! I know. Kirra was having her 'Slow down, you move too fast' solo show and I remember being mesmerized by her work. I ended up leaving with a little show catalog, with details of the pieces. You know, I still keep that catalog. In fact, I've taken it out a lot of times, stuck it on my wall and kept it again for fear of yellowing the pages/card. I think to date, I've taken out and kept and taken out the postcard about 5 times!
Anyway, Kirra has another show opening tonight. I am down with a really miserable cold but I'm so going. I need to see those 4 pieces shown above. They're my favourite out of the lot she's done. If I had to choose my favourite out of the 4, I'd say the pink one! Imagine having that on a white wall! Until the day I can afford a piece, I'll be crossing my fingers hoping that maybe tonight there'll be postcards or another show catalog. Just so I can get it framed and hung on my wall, pretending I'm an art collector.

Happy Clocks
How cute are these kiddos and their clocks?! Inspired by my owl clock project I did with the kids at Harvest, Illustrator Anna Walker did these with her Grade 1 class. So cute. Thanks Anna, for sending these pictures to me. They totally made my day and made me smile from side to side!

Photos from my iphone
I always carry a camera wherever I go but sometimes my camera is just too heavy. Especially today. I woke up sick but had to go for a meeting at Smith Street, and then to the studio to work. I had to bring along my lap top, a huge portfolio and lots of other random stuff. So I ended up not bringing my camera. Good choice as I got really tired and slightly drowsy. You know, the typical flu-ey feeling when you're down with a cold. I ended up having a good time just enjoying some alone time after my meeting. I had lunch at a cute japanese cafe. Food was pricey but it was good. I took a walk around Smith and Gertrude street. Saw some art, went into a few vintage shops, got some pom poms for a kids class this weekend, passed a shop selling huge loaves of bread, got a little bottle of gold sparkly nail polish, a new warm pair of brightly coloured socks, and then off to the studio I went. It was generally a really nice day to just walk around and observe people and things happening. I should do it more often I think. Sans camera, lap top and my oh-so-big bag!
